ORIGINS AND ETYMOLOGY

Astro-English: from Astronese, the term astralopia makes use of the word astral to denote “the astronomical world” adjoined to the suffix -opia to denote “a visual impairment”, altogether meaning “visual impairment of the astronomical world.”
